Ulthera

울쎄라 · also: Ultherapy, 울테라

How it works

Focused ultrasound heats precise points deep in the skin, triggering controlled injury that rebuilds collagen over 2–3 months. Because it targets the deep SMAS layer, it lifts rather than just tightens the surface.

Treatment depth — 1.5–4.5 mmSkin cross-section from the surface to 12 mm deep. Focused ultrasound acts from 1.5 to 4.5 mm below the surface, reaching the SMAS at its deepest. Ultrasound is focused to tiny points deep under the skin, skipping the surface entirely. Each point contracts and rebuilds over months.1.54.5 mmSkin surface0 mm24681012Epidermis · 0–0.2 mmDermis · 0.2–3 mmSMAS · facelift layer · 4.5–6 mmFat layer · 3–8 mmMuscle · 6–12 mm

FAQ

Does it hurt?

There's a deep, hot pinprick sensation as each line is delivered. Clinics adjust energy and can offer a nerve block or pro-numbing for sensitive areas.

When will I see results?

You may notice mild tightening right away, but the real lift builds as collagen rebuilds over 2–3 months.

How often should I repeat it?

Most people re-treat every 12–18 months depending on skin laxity and age.

Before you compare quotes: what this price is actually per

per shot
  • Ultrasound lifting is sold in shots (lines of energy). 100 shots treats a small area; a full face is usually 300–600. Compare price ÷ shots, never the headline.

Sold per shot, and this is where Ulthera quotes get misread. A full face is normally 300–600 shots, so a headline price attached to 100 shots is roughly a quarter of the real treatment. One Seoul list showed 100 shots of the newer 'Prime' generation at ₩590k — meaning a genuine full face there runs into the millions. Always convert to price ÷ shots before comparing clinics.

Won prices quoted above are from a dated reference price list for one Seoul clinic chain (2026-07-24), used to show the shape of pricing — not a national average, and not a quote. Prices include 10% VAT: the foreign-patient cosmetic VAT refund ended on 31 December 2025.
